Ahmedabad Declared as World Heritage City 10 July 2017:--Today, Ahmedabad city is declared as one of World Heritage Cities out of 287 cities at the 41st session of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), being held at Krakow in Poland.
First Maize Based Mega Food Park Announced:--Union Minister of Food Processing Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur founded the first maize-based food park in Kapurthala, Punjab. This Food Park is being developed by Sukhjit Mega Food Park
and Infra Ltd. at village Rehana Jattan, Phagwara, District Kapurthala, Punjab. This Food Park is started with an investment of 250 crores in 25-30 Food Processing Units and will produce 45-500 crores annually benefiting 25000 farmers and about 5000 persons for employment.
This move is taken against desertification of land, conservation of water and to cultivate maize-based production as a third crop in Punjab after Wheat and Rice.
