The selection process for class 6th is done on the basis of the merit list of the admission test. The selection for classes 9th and 11th is done on the basis of merit of the JMI common entrance test. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The exam consists of 100 marks. The test sections in the JMI entrance test of class 6th are the Environmental Studies, Mathematical and Numeracy skill Test, and Language (English) test. The subjects in the JMI entrance exam of class 9th are English, Maths, Science, and Social Science. The subjects in the JMI entrance exam of class 11th Science stream are English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, G.K. The subjects in the JMI entrance exam of class 11th Commerce stream are English, Maths, G.K, and Social Science.
