NEET UG Admit Card 2023 Overview

National Eligibility Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET (UG) is a pen and paper-based exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions in India's top government and private colleges for undergraduate courses in the field of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), and Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH). One can even take admissions to other abroad colleges according to his will. NEET UG was started in the year 2013 but due to some opposing states, students, and lawsuits filed in court, the test was not conducted in 2014 and 2015. In 2014 and 2015 All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was conducted by the state authorities and different other pre-medical tests were conducted on their own by the medical colleges for admissions. During 2013 and 2018, NEET UG was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but National Testing Agency (NTA) took over it in 2019 after its formation and conducted the exam. After conducting the NEET UG, the National Testing Agency (NTA) gives the results to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to create a national level merit list for admission into the medical seats of the top national colleges and also provides the results to the State Counseling Authorities for allocation of seats on the basis of state level merit list.
