Age Limit for Southern Railway Recruitment 2017
Age varies from categories and experience wise, age for candidates should fall in the following interval as on As on 15/06/2017,
- For Fresher Category (Trade Welder, Carpenter, Painter, Fitter, Electrician, and R & AC) - 15 To 22 Years.
- For Fresher Category (Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, and Cardiology)) - 15 To 24 Years.
- For Experienced ITI - 15 To 24 Years.
Qualification for Southern Railway Recruitment 2017:
Freshers:

| Carpenter, Painter & Welder | Should have passed 10th Class under 10, +2 System of education or its equivalent. |
| Electrician & Fitter | Should have passed 10th Class under 10 +2 System of education with Science and Mathematics as one of the subjects or its equivalent. |
| Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology) | Should have passed 12th Class under 10, +2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. |
Experienced:

| Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Welder, Wireman, Cable Jointer, Mechanic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Â PASAAÂ & Electronics Mechanic | Should have passed 10th Class under 10 +2 System of education and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI. |
| Electrician, Turner, Fitter, Machinist MMV & Winder (Armature). | Should have passed 10th Class under 10 +2 System of education with Science and Mathematics as one of the subjects or its equivalent and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI. |
| Mechanic (HT.LT Equipment & Cable Jointing) | Should have passed 10th Class under 10 +2 System of education with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent and Broad-based Basic training in Electrical Sector under Centre of Excellence Scheme and Advanced module of Centre of Excellence Scheme in Operation and Maintenance of equipment used in HT.LT Substation and Cable Jointing |

Physical Standard: -
- Height: Â 137 cms.
- Weight: 25.4 kgs.
- Chest measurement: Expansion should not be less than 5 Cms (irrespective of a size of the chest).
- Vision:Â There should be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk or aggravation or recurrence.
