UP Lekhpal Salary 2026: Grade Pay, Monthly Pay, Slip & Promotion
The updated UP Lekhpal salary structure consists of basic pay of ₹21,700–₹69,100, with 50% DA and 10–30% HRA of Basic pay. Under Pay Band 1 (₹5,200–₹20,200), the grade pay is ₹2,000. In-hand salary starts from ₹32,367 and can reach up to ₹1,00,339 after 40 years of service as per the 7th CPC. This structure applies to Bihar, UP, and other 7th CPC states. Lekhpal promotions occur every 8–10 years.

UP Lekhpal Promotion Hierarchy Process, Chart and Salary
In Uttar Pradesh, a Lekhpal starts in the Revenue Department and typically works in the Tehsil of each block. After 8-12 years, they can become a Registrar or Revenue Inspector (Kanungo). With 15-18 years of service, they can become a Naib Tehsildar. After 22-25 years, they can become a Tehsildar. And after 30-35 years, they can reach the position of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
